Alpine FM Presenter Mary Pike interviewed Dr. Helen Haines, Independent Federal Member for Indi, at Mount Beauty Stadium on Friday, October 20, to mark the completion of TREK’s Kiewa Valley Safer Places Project and the official reveal of Zali Morgan’s artwork, Bobby the Boarding Bogong on the generator. The event was organised by Alpine Shire Council in partnership with TREK (Towards Renewable Energy Kiewa), which is auspiced by the Upper Kiewa Valley Community Association.

Multiple emergency agencies and authorities were on site, partnering with Alpine Shire to assist community members in making an emergency management plan.

Alpine Shire launched its community preparedness plan, ‘The First 72 Hours‘, and held a community workshop. We learned lots and courtesy of Alpine Shire Council enjoyed a free BBQ hosted by Upper Kiewa Lions Club and free coffee and cake from Coffee Chakra Myrtleford.
